TEMANGGUNG – Pemerintah Kabupaten Temanggung melalui Pemerintah Kecamatan Gemawang menggandeng Politeknik Kesehatan Kementerian Kesehatan (Poltekkes Kemenkes) Semarang untuk mengatasi masalah stunting pada bayi di Kecamatan Gemawang. Kerja sama dilakukan karena Kecamatan Gemawang mempunyai angka stunting yang cukup tinggi .
Wakil Bupati Temanggung, Heri Ibnu Wibowo yang hadir dalam acara Pembukaan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat Progam Pengembangan Desa Sehat (PPDS) Tahun 2021 di Aula Kecamatan Gemawang, Senin (1/3/2021), menyambut baik kerja sama tersebut.
“Stunting masih menjadi PR di Kabupaten Temanggung, khususnya di daerah Gemawang, karena Gemawang adalah daerah yang masih banyak stuntingnya. Semoga dengan adanya kerja sama ini, bisa membebaskan permasalahan stunting dan karies gigi di Kecamatan Gemawang,” harapnya.
Ditambahkan, masih tingginya angka stunting di Kabupaten Temanggung disebabkan rendahnya kesadaran ibu hamil untuk mengonsumsi makanan yang bergizi, terutama yang mengandung yodium. Selain itu, pemahaman tentang pentingnya menjaga pertumbuhan anak saat usia balita masih harus ditingkatkan.
Heri mengatakan, berdasarkan data dari Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Temanggung, angka penderita stunting di Kabupaten Temanggung mencapai 7.143 orang balita. Dari jumlah tersebut Kecamatan Gemawang menjadi kecamatan yang paling banyak menderita stunting, yakni mencapai 384 orang balita.
Sementara, Direktur Poltekkes Kemenkes Semarang, Marsum yang hadir dalam acara pembukaan tersebut mengatakan, pada kerja sama ini akan diadakan pelatihan bagi kader kesehatan di Kecamatan Gemawang. Dalam pelatihan itu para kader akan diajari untuk memahami, menguasai dan mempunyai keterampilan untuk mencegah karies gigi dan menjaga agar ibu hamil tetap sehat, sehingga bayi yang dilahirkan tidak stunting.
“Jika ditemukan stunting, para kader juga bisa mengelola dan diberi perhatian agar bisa sembuh. Kita dari Poltekkes Kemenkes Semarang dalam kerja sama ini menurunkan sekitar 15 (orang) tenaga ahli dan mahasiswa yang akan melakukan pedampingan kurang lebih enam bulan,” katanya.

Sementara itu, Denty Eka Widi, angota DPD RI Dapil Jawa Tengah yang menjembatani terwujudnya kerja sama tersebut menuturkan, program itu tak hanya memberikan pendampingan gizi ibu hamil menuju balita bebas karies dan stunting melalui kader Usaha Kesehatan Gizi Masyarakat (UKGM). Namun juga untuk meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat, salah satunya melalui pengelolaan pisang.
“Saya selaku DPD menyediakan salah satu bahan bakunya, berupa bibit pisang untuk dipelihara, sekaligus juga untuk menyukseskan tani pekarangan yang merupakan program Pemerintah Kabupaten Temanggung,” kata Denty yang hadir pada kesempatan tersebut.
Bibit pisang yang merupakan bantuan dari DPD RI sebanyak 50 buah akan dibagikan kepada 50 sasaran binaan Poltekkes Kemenkes Semarang, dan diharapkan untuk ditanam di pekarangan rumah masing-masing.
“Semoga hasilnya nanti akan bisa diolah menjadi beberapa macam olahan mulai dari buahnya, batangnya, daunnya, semuanya. Karena kita juga mendatangkan praktisi-praktisi pisang dan pohonnya”, pungkasnya.
